Why Goal Setting Is Saving My Life

At my heaviest, I weighed 450 pounds.

That didn’t happen overnight. It happened because I stopped setting new goals after hitting the old ones.

Years ago, I built businesses and trained for a physique competition. I used vision boards. I wrote down goals. I stayed focused.

And it worked.

But after I reached those goals — I drifted.

I got comfortable.

I ran on autopilot.

Then COVID hit… and it hit hard. Physically. Mentally. Spiritually. The weight piled on — and so did the shame.

Eventually, I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize myself anymore.

Fast forward to now: I’m down to 370.

Almost 100 pounds gone.

And I’ve set a new, clear, measurable goal:

🎯 Lose another 90 pounds in 18 months — from 370 to 280.

This time, I’m tracking everything.

I’m planning it.

I’m documenting it publicly.

Because I know something now I didn’t respect before:

“Asking is the beginning of receiving.” – Jim Rohn

Jim said most people don’t fail because they don’t work hard — they fail because they never ask clearly.

And Jesus said it more plainly:

“Ask, and it will be given to you.” – Matthew 7:7

So now, I’m asking — clearly.

I’m showing up with a bucket, not a teaspoon.

Because I don’t want a little change — I want everything.

Not just a lighter body, but a deeper spirit.

Not just physical strength, but internal clarity.

Not just short-term wins — but long-term alignment.

And this time, when I hit my goal — I won’t stop.

I’ll have a maintenance plan.

I’ll keep setting goals.

Because I’ve learned the hard way what happens when you don’t.

This is Episode 2 of my transformation journey.

It’s just 2 minutes and 24 seconds — but it’s personal, powerful, and maybe even helpful to someone who needs to hit reset.
